Engineering: Product Testing Laboratory
Development programs for new products at Schrader Pacific are not complete until we have fully evaluated them in our Product Development Laboratory in tests that simulate application conditions and assess the reliability and durability of the product.
The Schrader Pacific Product Development Laboratory has a full range of test equipment to verify product performance and durability. Our AC test section can evaluate valves with a variety of refrigerants, such as CFC, HCFC, HFO, including blends, and CO2. Testing is normally conducted with refrigerant oils, exposing the charge to temperatures up to 160°C and down to -40°C.
The fuel section can evaluate valves with a variety of global fuel blends, both gasoline and diesel. Tests commonly conducted are hot fuel compatibility and endurance durability tests, subjecting the fuel valve to pressure pulsations up to 800 kPa. Because of safety considerations, fuel storage and testing are conducted in a separate building, remote from the other laboratory functions.
Our high-pressure hydrogen test facility is capable of generating pressures up to 1000 bar (14,500 psi). This facility has allowed the development of specialized valves for high-pressure hydrogen gas storage.
With a comprehensive array of test equipment, the Schrader Pacific Product Testing Laboratory provides a full range of test capabilities. Together with the product engineering team, Schrader Pacific has all the tools necessary to develop innovative new products for fluid control, probing the limits of valve sealing and extending those limits to create improved products for our customers.
